Nine false log cabin squares have been sewn into one big square, and onto the four intersection points I have appliquéed another flower – this time of two different plaids than the other nine flowers.
For a first border, I appliquéed a half oval onto a square consisting of two different fabrics. I made 48 of these squares.
Then I joined 4 times 12 of them to form a long strip and sewed these 4 strips to the 4 sides of the quilt top. This makes a very beautiful wavy frame.
The 4 corners were embellished by two petals each.
